Rainbow Double Coupon Day - Have you tried it yet?

Wednesday and Saturday are typically double coupons days at Rainbow, where the deals on groceries abound!  How it works is if your total is $25.00 or more (note - currently the $25 is calculated on FULL RETAIL price of the items you are buying, not the sale price or price after coupon) then Rainbow will double up to 5 manufacturer coupons of $1.00 or less.  Today I used all printable coupons which means anyone with a computer and printer can do the same.  If you are going to download coupons I highly recommend setting up a "junk" email account to use so your regular account is not full of spam because many companies require contact information before you get their coupons.  It needs to be a real account you can access because occasionally they will have you verify your email address before you get the coupons.

Today I managed to get my groceries for just over $9 and received $7 in discounts for my next shopping order making my total today just over $2, yup only $2 for all of this:

6 Boxes of Pop Tarts 12 ct. $3.15 each
Use 2 of this coupon $1.00 off 3 boxes of Pop-Tarts

Fresh produce in the amount of $2.75

Light & Fit Yogurt $2.00
Use $1 off Light & Fit (Facebook offer)

Coffee Creamer $2.39
Use $.75 off Coffee-Mate

Minute Rice $1.79
Use $.50 off Minute Rice

Total before coupons & discounts $27.83
-$10 instantly for buying 6 Kelloggs items from Rainbow
-$8.50 for 5 Doubled coupons
Total spent $9.33 (this is the actual amount out of pocket)
Then I received $4 off my next shopping order from Kellogg's for buying 6 boxes of Pop-Tarts &
$3.00 off my next milk purchase knocking down my cost to $2.33

What if you don't eat Pop-Tarts or use Coffee Creamer?  Well check out Pocket Your Dollars for the full Rainbow shopping list, this list includes coupons from several sources and does a great job explaining it all if you need help.
